Are you trying to figure out how to delete pins from your board?
The process is super simple; however, before you do that, you should really consider if that’s the best choice for your account.
Pinterest needs a lot of data to optimize your account, so it can figure out your interests, and show it to the right audience.
If you remove a lot of content that happened to be well-optimized for Pinterest SEO, you may be hurting your account’s reach.
In this article, I will share the step by step process of removing pins from a Pinterest board, but before you dive into it, check the bottom part of the article for the scenarios when you should consider doing this.
Last, I also shared a sign up box to get access to my free Pinterest mini course, where you can learn everything about how the Pinterest algorithm works, and how to use it for your Pinterest marketing strategy.

Why You Might Want to Delete Pins
There are only a few cases where you might want to delete pins from your boards.
Here are some general guidelines you can use:
Outdated Content
- Old Trends: Some content may have been trendy at one point but no longer aligns with current trends or your brand’s direction.
- Expired Promotions: If you have pins that promoted past events, sales, or limited-time offers, these should be removed to avoid confusing your audience.
Irrelevant or Low-Performing Pins
- Irrelevant Pins: Over time, you may find that some pins no longer fit your brand’s image or strategy.
- Low Engagement: Pins that receive little to no engagement can negatively impact your overall Pinterest analytics. Removing these can help improve your content’s visibility.
Avoiding Duplicate Content
- Accidental Re-pinning: Sometimes, the same content gets pinned multiple times. Deleting duplicates helps in maintaining an organized board.
Privacy Concerns
- Personal Information: If any pins inadvertently share personal or sensitive information, it’s wise to delete them immediately.
- Reputation Management: In cases where a pin no longer aligns with your values or brand reputation, it’s best to remove it.
